We woke up this morning around 7 am after a full night's sleep. Hurricane Irene didn't really do any damage to us or the area around us, as far as we can tell. I woke up a few times during the night to the wind banging our windows. Eventually I moved to sleep on my second favorite chair because I just couldn't get comfy in bed with all that wind.
The good news is that we are all three safe and just waiting for the wind to die down so we can go to the farmer's market at Dupont Circle (hopefully it's not canceled!).
The bad news is that the windows in our apartment are filthy.
Mom and Gramy were hoping that the wind and rain would be hard enough to clean them. Hurricane Irene didn't even do that!
So glad you survived! Did you pray? I sent your blog to Uncle Bill and to Aunt Darlene and Aunt Dicksie. Aunt Dicksie sent me an email that said she would pray for all 3 of you. She was thinking of you...she loves dogs. How can you see out the window to tell when you Mom is coming home from work?
ReplyDeleteThanks Aunt Dicksie! We did pray and we made it through!
ReplyDeleteAnd there's nothing to see out the window, just another building. I prefer to take naps and tear up pillows when I'm waiting for my mom.
