Today I went to daycare again. It was fun and I got to sit in my chair again. I was so tired when Mom picked me up that I didn't even want to walk home! I kept trying to stop, but Mom made me walk the whole way. It was so hot and I drank a whole bowl of water when we got home.
After we got back, my mom left right away to go to her first day of class. That's okay because I wanted to take a nap in the air conditioning! She said she met lots of nice people and that she's joining a kickball league!
I'm too tired to write anymore right now and I don't have any pictures for today. Mom says we're going to the dog park again tomorrow and she promises to bring her camera this time so that you can see some pictures of my new friends!

S Street Dog Park
Today was Mom's second day of work. She didn't take me to daycare today, but that was okay. I was still tired from yesterday. When she woke up this morning, I didn't even get out of bed! I was still asleep when she got home from work!
She said her day at work today wasn't much better than yesterday. She listened to a conference on her computer for half the day, and then had to go through files the other half. I think she was really bored and glad she has friends to talk to on gchat.
When Mom got home from work, I was ready to play! First, we went on a run in our neighborhood. It was really hard because there were so many people walking around. After the run, Mom took me to our dog park!
Now I'm tired and I have to get some sleep because Mom says I'm going to daycare again tomorrow! Maybe a little fetch before bed...

Mom's First Day of Work
Today was Mom's first day of work at the Office of the General Council, Department of Health and Human Services. Instead of staying at home, I got to go to daycare!! At first I was nervous because of all the other dogs, but then I found my special chair. It was just a half broken chair sitting in the play area, but I claimed it as mine. I sat up there on my throne most of the day just watching.
By the time Mom picked me up, I was sooooo tired. When I got home, I just laid down on my second favorite chair, chewed my bully for a little and then slept until morning.
I think I had a better day than Mom. After she dropped me off, she took the Metro to her work. When she got there, she had to wait in the lobby of her building for two hours before they let her in! She met another intern who she says is very nice and they talked for a long time.
Once she got past security, they showed her to her office.
Her office here is not even close to her offices at Latham and Irell. But she says it'll do just fine. She sat in her office for another few hours, waiting for someone to give her an office tour. After the tour, she just went back to sitting in her office until it was time to leave! I think Mom wishes she could have gone to daycare instead of going to work.
After Mom picked me up and we walked home, I could tell that she was getting a little lonely. But when we got home, there was a present waiting for us! Uncle Billy, Aunt Becky, and Lullabelle sent us some chocolate covered fruit!
Mom says I can't have any, but she gave me a treat when she had some.

The Return of Jafar

The nice lady who owns our apartment said that Jafar sent her a mean email and made her cry! She said he doesn't want us to live in this building. She called the president of the building though, and he said it's alright and we shouldn't worry about Jafar.
Mom says I have to get my feet wiped off when we go for walks and that I'm not allowed to play fetch in the house anymore. I hate having my feet touched! I love fetch! I don't like this Jafar guy...
Gramy's Last Day
After we realized that the hurricane wasn't going to hurt us, we decided to go out to the farmers' market at Dupont Circle. It was huge and there were lots of dogs. My mom took lots of pictures and bought a lot of produce.

Mom also bought some pretty flowers for our new apartment.
After the farmers' market, we went so I could try out a new daycare. At first, I didn't want to go because I remembered that I didn't really like City Dogs. But this one was much better. My mom said that she could even see me on camera when I went in to meet my new friends! At first I was scared and I wanted to go back with Mom and Gramy. But after a while, I liked playing and I didn't even really want to go home! Mom says I get to go back tomorrow.
After playing at Planet Pet, we went to the grocery store and the hardware store so Mom could finish her shopping. On the way, we saw that the hurricane didn't really cause much damage around us.
My feet hurt again, so I was glad when we finally came home. While I took a nap, Mom and Gramy went to visit her new internship...
and the place where she will go to class.
They were gone for a while and I got bored. I decided to tear the stuffing out of one of the pillows on my favorite chair.
I don't think Mom liked that very much.

We Survived Hurricane Irene
Hello all,
We woke up this morning around 7 am after a full night's sleep. Hurricane Irene didn't really do any damage to us or the area around us, as far as we can tell. I woke up a few times during the night to the wind banging our windows. Eventually I moved to sleep on my second favorite chair because I just couldn't get comfy in bed with all that wind.
The good news is that we are all three safe and just waiting for the wind to die down so we can go to the farmer's market at Dupont Circle (hopefully it's not canceled!).
The bad news is that the windows in our apartment are filthy.
Mom and Gramy were hoping that the wind and rain would be hard enough to clean them. Hurricane Irene didn't even do that!

Our Apartment
Pretty much everything was closed today because of the storm. So we were all stuck inside all afternoon and all night. I finally got to take an afternoon nap! I feel so much better.
While I was napping, my mom and grandma were working hard cleaning our new apartment. It turns out that it was really really dirty! I think I liked the dirt, but they say it looks way better now.
Here are the pictures of our new house that I promised you:

Jafar!!

We met a mean man today. I was just coming in from doing my business in the pouring rain and he stopped us in the hallway. He said "We have RULES about DOGS." He didn't want me to live in his apartment building! He looked and acted just like Jafar from Aladdin.
We don't like him very much. Neither do the nice lady and man who own our apartment. They said not to worry about Jafar. But Mom says I have to be stealth dog and not wear my collar in the apartment anymore because Jafar lives below us.
I'm going to pretend to be a kitty when I'm home. I don't want to make Jafar cranky.
Hurricane Irene!
There's a hurricane today! Mom and Gramy have been watching the news all day. This morning, we went on a long walk to the grocery store to get food and water. The weather man said the power might go out.

I don't like hurricanes. Every time I go out to do my business, I get soaked!
Hurricanes aren't scary. We met a nice lady with a nice golden retriever at the grocery store. She said that all the power lines in Washington DC are underground, so there's nothing to worry about. The weatherman said the worst storm would be in DC at 4 am, so we'll be asleep anyways!

Lots of Walking... Again (My Paws Hurt!)
Today Mom woke me up and took me to a place called City Dogs. She said it might be my new daycare. I stayed there and played while my mom and grandma went to the grocery store. That's okay because I'm not allowed in the grocery store anyways. They picked me up a few hours later. I could tell Mom didn't like City Dogs, but I thought it was just great.
After City Dogs, we walked FOREVER and met up with Lyn again. Mom and Gramy took a billion pictures.

We went to the Vietnam War Memorial, but dogs weren't allowed, so I had to stay on the outside. Then we had to walk allllll the way home.
After all that walking and picture taking and playing at daycare, I thought my paws were going to fall off! Living in Washington DC is really hard work.

The First Day and My New House
I felt like I barely got to sleep last night in the hotel when my mom was waking me up again. We walked a few blocks where we met a nice man and lady who gave my mom the keys to our new apartment! I like my new apartment. I'll post some pictures another day. For now, here is a picture of me taking a nap in my new favorite chair:
We barely stayed at our new apartment. We walked back to the hotel and mom got a taxi cab to help move the rest of her stuff. Then we were off to explore the city!
We went to the Korean War Memorial, where we met a nice man named Lyn. He taught my mom and grandma how to take pictures. I had to be the model. After the Korean War Memorial, we went to the Lincoln Memorial.
They didn't like dogs to be inside the memorial, so my mom had to pick me up so I could see the statute of Lincoln and the words of the Gettysburg Address.

The Reflecting Pool was under construction, but we could see the Washington Monument in the distance. They said it will take two years to finish the construction, so when my family comes in Thanksgiving, they won't be able to see it either.
Next, we went to the Einstein Memorial, but it started to rain, HARD!
There was a squirrel that I wanted to chase really bad, but as soon as I got wet, I forgot all about it! I was just huddling close to anyone that had a big umbrella. I felt like a drowned rat! Our friend Lyn said that the photography class would have to be finished another day because it was just too wet. Mom and grandma and I took a cab home. I don't think the cab driver liked me very much. He was really cranky because of the rain and kept yelling at the other drivers.
When we got home, I was so happy to be inside! I rubbed myself all over my second favorite chair to get dry.
Then I played some fetch with feetie ball and took a nap in my favorite chair.
After my nap, mom and grandma and I walked all over to explore our new neighborhood. It looks like there are a lot of fun places for Mom and me to hang out! I heard Mom say that there's a dog park nearby. I hope we get to visit that soon. But not today. I'm so tired, I can barely stand it.
